Description
Location: Torrance, CA (hybrid schedule - 3 days onsite each week)

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust backend systems for cutting-edge technology solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to architect scalable and resilient digital service infrastructures, ensuring seamless integration with various messaging systems, cloud platforms, and database technologies.
Responsibilities:
Architect and design scalable backend systems for various Connected Services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integration solutions using messaging systems such as Kafka, Red Hat AMQ, and IBM WebSphere MQ.
Utilize cloud platforms, particularly AWS, for building and deploying digital service architectures.
Implement microservices-based architecture designs and services-oriented architectures (SOA).
Stay abreast of modern technology landscape, architecture principles, and development techniques.
Foster Agile practices and contribute to continuous improvement within the development methodology.
Implement DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
Requirements
Required Skills:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development.
At least 3 years of experience as an Application Architect in large-scale enterprise applications backend systems.
Demonstrated proficiency in Java/J2EE and related open-source frameworks (Spring, JPA, Hibernate, etc.).
Extensive experience with message brokers and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with containerized app deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.).
Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, and current IT trends.
Familiarity with Agile practices, development methodologies, and DevOps tools.
Experience with database systems (RDMS, RDS, NoSQL, DynamoDB, etc.).
Desired Skills (not mandatory but advantageous):
Experience in the automotive industry.
Professional certifications in Architectural competency such as TOGAF or equivalent.
