Description

Our client is a leader in the Automotive Industry and seeking Sr Project Manager with experience with Delivery of Enterprise-wide digital transformation projects involving a large set of stakeholders & dependencies.

MULTI-YEAR

Hybrid - 2 days/week on-site in Torrance, CA

Daily Tasks Performed

• Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations

• Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately

• Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources

• Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed

• Manages one or more cross‐functional projects of high complexity

• Responsible for the management of one or more medium to large‐sized, moderately to highly complex projects

1) Manage Assigned Projects & Enhancements to new or existing systems

  • Follow Honda's SDLC methodology (Agile/Waterfall) and deliverables

  • Manage project plan, staff tasks and progress & report status

  • Coordinate, schedule and chair meetings with multiple stakeholders & distribute meeting minutes

  • Maintain Quality, Cost & Delivery aspects of the project

  • Manage project forecasts, budget, variance etc. and ensure project is on track

  • Create presentation & communication material relevant to a variety of stake holders including business & IT Leadership

2) System Analysis for Assigned Projects & Enhancements to new or existing systems Following Honda's SDLC methodology (Agile & Waterfall) and creating deliverables (scope doc/functional specs, etc.)

-Workshop facilitation (e.g. JAD Sessions), data analysis, business process and workflow analysis/documentation

-Gather, refine, and validate complex business requirements and combine into a clear and prioritized backlog.

3) Collaborate with Product Owners and multiple product teams with varying levels of Agile maturity to define product goals backlogs and roadmaps leading to successful delivery

-Team coordination: Ensure teams operate with agreed team cadence. Provide support to help teams reflect learn and improve on their Agile practice.

-Dependency coordination: Work with teams to identify and manage interactive dependencies within a complex systems environment

  • Track and manage team Visual Management Boards: Help teams to maintain their team data and collateral; keeping relevant over time to changing needs of the business

  • Continuous improvement: Provide mentoring support to Product Owners and team members to refine their understanding of Agile practices

  • Work with the teams to identify and mitigate impediments and risks to the program

    Requirements

Top 5 MUST have skills:

1) Experience delivering projects with Waterfall & Agile delivery models

2) Ability to perform multiple roles (Scrum Master, Project Manager & Business Analysis)

3) Clear communication skills and ability to communicate and negotiate with stakeholders

4) Strong Technical background to clearly understand complex business requirements and benefits of assigned projects

5) Experience working with enterprise organizations such as Enterprise Architecture, Risk & Compliance, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Procurement; and Budget Management.

Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS'

Academic/Experience/Competency

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.

• Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.

• 7 to 10 years of IT work experience

• 5 years managing projects

• Advanced ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole

• Advanced understanding and ability to manage complex program and project budget

• Advanced ability in implementing program and project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality

• Advanced knowledge in conducting risk assessments and developing plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified

• Advanced understanding of multiple project management disciplines

REQUIRED

1) Experience delivering projects with Waterfall & Agile Delivery models.

2) Ability to perform multiple roles (Scrum Master, Project Manager & Business Analysis)

3) Clear communication skills and ability to communicate and negotiate with stakeholders

4) Ability to collaborate well with a diverse set of team members (team player)

5) Strong Technical background to clearly understand complex business requirements and benefits of assigned projects

6) Ability to innovate and multi-task with minimal oversight

7) Experience delivering enterprise digital platforms or services that involve complex data, transactions, or integrations

8) Experience working with enterprise organizations such as Enterprise Architecture, Risk & Compliance, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Legal, Procurement, etc.

9) Budget Management & Forecasting

10) Experience delivering projects using Agile at Scale (SAFE framework) for delivery

PREFERRED

1) Automotive industry background, business acumen & understanding of OEM-Dealer eco-system

2) Understanding of Salesforce ecosystem/family of Products

3) Experience with Jira/Confluence tools to manage project artifacts, delivery & support operations
