Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Software Developer in Torrance, California. This role is centered in the financial services industry, with a key focus on mainframe application development and customer service. The ideal candidate will be fully remote, providing support and development for multiple large projects within our portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance and maintain customer credit application systems using mainframe COBOL, CICS, MQ, DB2, and JCL technologies.

• Regularly review and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and efficiency.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to mainframe online and batch abends.

• Conduct comprehensive research to support application development and production.

• Accurately document all processes and procedures, ensuring clarity and transparency.

• Deliver complete documentation for estimates, design, and development.

• Collaborate with other team members to perform impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications.

• Provide support for nightly batch production.

• Utilize your understanding of financial services, specifically automotive lending, to enhance our services.

• Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure smooth operation of payment processing, taxes, end of term and extension processes, and loan administration.

• Utilize your knowledge of collection processes, delinquencies, recovery, and bankruptcy to support our financial services.

Requirements

• Proficiency in software development and application development

• Experience in loan administration and financial services

• Ability to troubleshoot software issues and maintain system performance

• Familiarity with R Code and MQ for system development

• Experience with mainframe application and production support

• Knowledge of payment processing and collection processes in loan and lease servicing

• Proven customer service skills and ability to interact with suppliers

• Experience in finance, specifically in bankruptcy and recovery processes

• Ability to work overtime when necessary

• Willingness to travel as required by the job

• Strong research and design skills

• Proficiency in online tools and platforms for loan and lease servicing

• Experience in handling delinquencies and ensuring deliverables are met
