Description Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the Warehouse operations to meet and or exceed productivity, service, speed, and financial goals as established by the Logistics Group and the Company.
o Develop a high performance, results-oriented team of distribution associates dedicated to excellence. o Interview, select, and hire the most qualified candidates for open positions. Train, monitor, provide feedback, coach, and evaluate employee performance on a timely basis. Administer disciplinary action when necessary. Set and maintain work schedules for employees based on the needs of the business. Maintains a positive work environment.
o Work with Temporary Service companies to procure needed temporary staffing, set performance standards, train, and ensure that each individual meets established productivity goals. o Maintain high level of individual and workgroup communications. Conducts regular staff meetings to provide updated information on the Company and the workgroup, and to address issues.
• Provide daily direction and supervision of warehouse personnel to ensure the safe, clean, secure, and efficient operation of the warehouse. Supervision includes but is not limited to the functions of receiving, processing, stocking, price change, inventory, quality control, order fulfillment, and expediting priority merchandise-processing. Fulfills all emergency and manual orders.
o Ensure timely and accurate receipt of merchandise into the WMS to expedite the available-for-sale status. o Oversee the timely picking, packing of all store orders ensuring the highest level of picking productivity and accuracy. o Develop and implement Warehouse operations and administrative support procedures and best practices to meet productivity and service goals.
o Create appropriate operating metrics to measure and manage productivity levels of the operation. Capture productivity data and use data to manage the operations. Continually analyzes the operation and financial results for opportunities for improvement. o Continually reduce cycle time to minimal levels with high levels of accuracy. o Execute other aspects of the warehouse activities with timeliness and accuracy to include reverse logistics, price changes, inventory balancing, etc.
o Work with Merchandise Planners to resolve Vendor-related issues such as substitutions, overages, shortages and damages o File and pursue freight claims against carriers for overages, shortages and damages
• Utilize a Quality Improvement approach to manage the operations. Includes the prevention of defects and exceptions, maintain customerfocus, develop a process-based operation, promote a bottoms-up management style, and continually improve our processes. Provide the necessary staff training and coaching to promote a Quality mindset with the staff.
o Communicate, collaborate, and align expectations and needs with internal and external customers and other stakeholders to improve service and work processes.
