Robert Half Staff Accountant in Traverse City, Michigan
Description
Robert Half is partnering with a company looking for a Staff Accountant. This is an ONSITE role in Traverse City, MI (with possibility of one day remote in future).
Key responsibilities, in part:
-Have functional responsibility for all accounting operations, including accounting and financial reporting
-Cash management including daily cash report, bank reconciliations, and short-term projections
-Ensure revenue, cost of sales and general expenses are recorded accurately
-Oversee and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
-Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness
-Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
-Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Requirements
-Must be able to work ONSITE in Traverse City, MI.** (with possible remote one day per week, in future)
-Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
-5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it in a supervisory role
-Manufacturing experience preferred
-Strong understanding of inventory management and costs
-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with other financial systems.
-Strong attention to details
-Deep understanding of the role of systems in the organization, internal controls, and effective processes
-Strong working knowledge of GAAP and management accounting
