Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounting Clerk to join our team within the Savings & Loan industry at our Troy, Michigan location. As an Accounting Clerk, you will primarily focus on the processing and verification of invoices, maintaining accurate data records, and managing customer inquiries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, with the potential for long-term engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications and invoices, ensuring data integrity.

• Maintain precise records of customer credit information.

• Conduct verification of all data for accuracy before processing.

• Efficiently sort and recode supporting documentation to match each specific invoice.

• Handle customer inquiries, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.

• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate action based on account status.

• Manage the distribution of mail, scan and mail documents, and distribute end-of-day reports.

• Utilize MS Excel and other systems for account analysis and data entry tasks.

• Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring all transactions are completed within set timeframes.

• Maintain a fast-paced, high-volume work environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting role, preferably within a banking or savings & loan environment

• Proficiency in Data Entry - Numeric

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Strong skills in MS Excel

• Experience in Account Analysis

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards in the banking or savings & loan industry

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
