Robert Half Help Desk Analyst II in Troy, Michigan


We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Help Desk Analyst II based in Troy, Michigan. This role is within the telecom industry and is focused on providing technical assistance and training to system users. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, modifying, and making minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems as well as troubleshooting problems with desktop equipment and printers.


• Provide helpdesk support to system users

• Create, manage, and disable/delete user network accounts

• Handle network file share security, including user and group access to files and folders

• Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers for users

• Inspect personal computer equipment and printers upon receipt from manufacturing before installing at users' work area

• Load specified software packages such as imaging operating systems, client applications into computer

• Respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system hardware, software, printer and/or operator problems

• Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems

• Coordinate activities with help desk or network services

• Provide updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users

• Replace defective or inadequate software packages

• Follow corporate technical, validation and change control standards and procedures

• Assist IT management in developing desktop standards and evaluating new equipment.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in MS Access 7.0/95 and MS Office

• Experience with Active Directory

• Knowledge of printer operations.

Requirements • Proficiency in MS Access 7.0/95 is required for data management tasks.

• Familiarity with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for daily administrative tasks.

• Experience with Active Directory for managing networked resources.

• Knowledge of printer setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

• Excellent problem-solving skills to effectively address user issues and concerns.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with a diverse team and user base.

• Ability to work in a team and independently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

• A firm understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.

• Experience in a customer-oriented role, demonstrating empathy and a commitment to exceptional service.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
