Jana Chapman with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join her client near Portland, Oregon. This role involves providing support to the controller and accounting department, ensuring timely completion of monthly accounting responsibilities, and participating in various projects as determined by the Controller.
Responsibilities:
• Support the controller and accounting department in ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly accounting close responsibilities as well as non-recurring projects
• Handle parts of the month end close process, such as financial analysis, review and completion of general ledger entries, sub-ledger reconciliations, account analysis, bank reconciliations, cash receipts reconciliations, and fixed assets
• Communicate directly and regularly with accounting personnel to research and resolve issues, provide accounting guidance as needed and answer questions related to financial reports and internal audit issues
• Support Controller in coordinating information needs of Legal, Tax, Human Resources, Operations, and other departments
• Ensure proper controls are in place and operating effectively at the branch locations and in the Corporate Office
• Work with Controller to implement and oversee any remediation or process changes necessary due to Internal Audit findings or other Corporate wide policies
• Recommend and implement improvements to processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Participate and contribute to various projects as determined by the Controller including but not limited to: ERP system implementations and process efficiency/improvement projects.Jan
Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role
• Proficiency in payroll management is essential
• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration is required
• Must have hands-on experience with Full Cycle Accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills
• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service orientation
• Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
