Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Tucson, Arizona

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bilingual Accounting Specialist in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial and accounting records, processing payments, overseeing payroll, and preparing financial reports among other duties. This role is essential to ensure the smooth running of our accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and ensure all financial and accounting records comply with guidelines

• Record weekly collections and other cash receipts

• Process payments to vendors and others, and maintain vendor files

• Oversee payroll system time tracking by employees and post payroll transactions to the general ledger

• Prepare financial reports and profit & loss statements

• Complete year-end reports as required

• Reconcile all Bank Accounts and other balance sheet accounts as required

• Reconcile investment accounts with parish records, reconcile vendor accounts with parish records

• Maintain required property and other insurance records

• Prepare operating and capital budgets for review and approval

• Work collaboratively with the parish finance council and the parish Board of Directors; provide information and support as requested

• Support Internal audits as requested

• Ensure existence of verifiable audit trail for all financial transactions

• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Billing Functions

• Experience with Check Processing

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting specialist role or similar

-Bilingual in English/Spanish

• Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Thorough understanding of accounting functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with billing functions

• Experience in check processing

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
