Robert Half Senior Accountant in Tucson, Arizona
Description We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team based in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reviewing accounts, and assisting in the development of financial policies. You will also play a key role in coordinating budget preparation, conducting audits, and utilizing your technical expertise to complete tasks with an emphasis on quality and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations
• Monitor and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Review and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures
• Conduct internal audits to assess financial controls and identify areas for improvement
• Provide support during external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of various tax returns and filings
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
• Supervise the work of others, including planning, assigning, and scheduling work, reviewing work, and ensuring quality standards
• Facilitate individual and team meetings and ensure staff attend required trainings and events
• Assist in the hiring, training, developing, and administering performance reviews and corrective action plans for staff
• Communicate progress reports and analysis to leadership and reporting staff
• Plan and coordinate the development, implementation, and execution of programs, special projects, and other initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the department
• Build and maintain relationships and regularly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that work adheres to local, state, and federal governmental regulations, and other applicable rules and requirements
• Use virtual collaboration platforms to perform work as necessary (e.g. Zoom or Teams). Requirements • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Honours Degree in a relevant field
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role is required
• Proficiency in managing General Ledger is essential
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
