Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Tucson, Arizona. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be a part of our dynamic team, primarily focusing on maintaining and reconciling accounts, analyzing balance sheets, and managing general ledgers. You will also be responsible for handling bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and using various software tools such as Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.
Responsibilities:
• Reconciliation of account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as the general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
• Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal and private funding, contracts, and grants
• Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents
• Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control
• Resolve accounting discrepancies
• Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems
• Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
• Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients
• Prepare and review operational reports
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
• Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
• Respond to inquiries from the director of finance, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. Requirements • Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
• Extensive knowledge in maintaining general ledgers and performing journal entries.
• Strong skillset in Microsoft Excel and month-end close procedures.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex accounting issues.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
• Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Should be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment.
