Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous Bilingual (English/Spanish) Staff Accountant in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves various accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, processing payroll, and pension payments, event management accounting, and the preparation of monthly financial statements. The Staff Accountant will also ensure adherence to internal control policies and may be assigned other tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciling bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and other revenue and expense accounts as needed.

• Posting all accounting transactions related to each legal entity, including payroll and pension payments, benefits, contributions, and special billings.

• Handling all transactions related to event management accounting.

• Performing month-end and year-end close processes.

• Compiling monthly financial statements, Accounts Receivable reports, and other management reports as needed.

• Ensuring that all internal control policies are followed.

• Using accounting software such as QuickBooks for various tasks.

• Handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

• Performing bank reconciliations and journal entries.

• Handling month-end close processes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, specifically as a Staff Accountant.

-Ideally bilingual in English/Spanish

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Knowledge and experience in handling General Ledger.

• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries.

• Experience in Month End Close procedures.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate analyses.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
