Description

We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Division Controller to join our team in Tukwila, Washington. This role involves leading and managing a sizable accounting team, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, and contribute to the development of accounting processes and procedures. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 35 members, including Accounting Associates, Jr. Property Accountants, Property Accountants, Sr. Property Accountants, and Accounting Managers

• Oversee all relations within Asset Services Accounting, including recruitment, onboarding, supervision, scheduling, training, development, evaluation, and disciplinary action of employees

• Maintain strong relationships with top clients in conjunction with the Asset Services Market Leaders

• Collaborate with Property Teams in managing salary reimbursements revenue calculations and billing, and tracking and preparation of annual CAM reconciliations and estimates

• Partner with President, Asset Services, and Asset Services Market Leaders in preparing corporate annual budgets accurately and on time

• Ensure frequent and effective communication with all divisions, including Engineering and Corporate Accounting

• Oversee timely and accurate preparation of all financial reports to internal and external clients

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustments

• Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to the Accounting team to achieve company and client results

• Promote and maintain a positive working environment in alignment with company core values

• Develop and maintain, in conjunction with the entire accounting team, a comprehensive Accounting Processes and Procedures Manual to enforce and monitor compliance and the integrity of the financial data

• Regularly review and update internal control processes to address any identified weaknesses

• Manage and administer all audit requests from clients and/or government/regulatory agencies

• Oversee and maintain the integrity of tenant data in the property management accounting system

• Support the accounting team with all month-end processes, including review or preparation of accruals or financial analysis for Property Managers/Owners

• Prepare periodic reforecasts as required by the client

• Conduct periodic audits on monthly reports prepared by the team for accuracy.

The salary range for this position is $150k to $170k, w/ bonus. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan w. match, and 15 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave and 10 paid holidays per calendar year.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing practices

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficiency in using Yardi Software

• Experience in Property Accounting

• Knowledge of Property Budgets

• Understanding of Property Management Accounting
