Robert Half Staff Accountant in Tukwila, Washington

Description Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Tukwila, Washington area, at a company where effort is rewarded.

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  • Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments Requirements

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Command of Microsoft Excel

  • Ledger Reconciliations experience highly desired

  • General familiarity with Vendor Records

  • Well-founded grasp of US GAAP

  • Practical knowledge of intercompany accounts

  • Wide ranging experience with Tax Compliance Processes

  • Good understanding of financial auditing

  • Solid understanding of general ledger

  • Proven knowledge of month end closings

  • Reconciliations experience preferred

  • Earlier work involving auditing

  • Quality experience with Tax Reporting

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems
