Robert Half International Full Charge Bookkeeper in Tulare, California

You might be a good fit for Accountemps's Full Charge Bookkeeper position. The short-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Tulare, California. The role will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements. You will also be establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Your responsibilities in this role
Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records
Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Well-founded grasp of Posting Journal Entries
Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel
Quality experience with QuickBooks
Manual payroll experience
Earlier work involving Microsoft Word
Proven knowledge of Financial Statement
Practical knowledge of Manual Processes
Full Cycle Payroll experience
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Experience with financial reporting
General familiarity with reconciliations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Prior payroll experience preferred
Excel and Peachtree experience a plus
Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
5+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
