Based in Tulare, California, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. If you're comfortable with establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, you could be a good candidate for this position.

What you get to do every single day

  • Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

  • Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents Requirements - Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

    • Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

  • General ledger experience

  • Proficiency in Financial Statement

  • Foundational knowledge in Conduct Audits

  • Comprehensive knowledge of full charge bookkeeping

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Experience with payroll preferred

  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • 3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
