Robert Half Assistant Controller in Tyler, Texas
Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Tyler, TX. This role involves directing various accounting functions, contributing to financial reporting, and supervising accounting staff. The Assistant Controller will also play a crucial role in implementing and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in directing the organization's accounting functions such as cost, payables, and reporting
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting
• Oversee the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal filings
• Ensure that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed
• Train Accounting staff and supervise their daily tasks
• Implement and ensure organizational compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Supervise and/or prepare general ledger reconciliations
• Coordinate year-end audits and work on special projects as needed
• Help develop various forecasts and cash flow projections
• Collaborate with the team and with outside resources to evaluate processes and identify and implement changes in the day-to-day operations to improve productivity and increase automation
• Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) software
• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understanding of Auditing principles and practices
• Experience in Budget Processes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the same industry.
