Robert Half Purchasing Coordinator in Union City, California
Description We are offering a role based in Union City, California for a Purchasing Coordinator. The position involves a variety of data entry tasks primarily focused on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and purchase orders within a manual process environment. The role demands an individual with excellent analytical skills, capable of contributing to various logistics projects and working with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities:
• Thorough review and processing of ECOs and purchase orders.
• Accurate data transfer to Excel for streamlining purchasing processes.
• Implement strategies to address the lack of systematic tracking to minimize potential purchase errors.
• Effective document management using PDFs and other documents to differentiate between old and new entries.
• Assist purchasing and engineering teams in their operations and projects.
• Participate in analysis tasks including determining percentage lists and creating shipment trackers/calculators.
• Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Take ownership and accountability for tasks, driving progress with a growth mindset.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook for various tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Experience in a purchasing role or similar is essential
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to analyze and interpret purchasing proposals
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures and best practices
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to make sound decisions
• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field is preferred.
