Robert Half Shipping and Receiving Coordinator in Union City, California

Description

We are seeking a committed Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our client's team in the food manufacturing industry located in Union City, California.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating systematic Shipping and Receiving activities, addressing transportation related issues, and collaborating with various teams to ensure timely transfer and delivery of materials and finished goods.

This is a contract to permanent position depending on performance.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday 6AM- 2:30PM with occasional Saturday and overtime work, as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Planning outbound shipments from warehouse locations based on current inventory levels and production capabilities.

• Overseeing the scheduling platform and ensuring the accuracy of Shipping and Receiving documentation.

• Providing daily reports regarding shipment information, receipts, transfers, and any associated discrepancies.

• Confirming availability of items to be shipped by verifying inventory records or consulting with Inventory Control Specialists.

• Creating and reviewing shipping documents for intracompany transfers of materials and products as well as outbound shipments.

• Collaborating with the Logistics department to schedule the movement of products between internal warehouse locations and third-party warehouses.

• Arranging special shipping procedures as necessary and resolving inventory discrepancies in coordination with the Inventory Control Specialist.

• Ensuring carrier availability to provide a reliable transportation network.

• Assisting Inventory Control Specialists in reconciling warehouse inventory and maintaining data accuracy when needed.

This role offers a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

• Proven experience with shipping and receiving procedures

• Proficiency in using ERP software

• Demonstrated ability in inventory tracking and management

• Excellent customer service skills

• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the role

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Proactive problem-solver with a willingness to take initiative

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Understanding of safety procedures and regulations in a manufacturing setting

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated
