Robert Half Systems/Network Administrator in Union, New Jersey

Description The Systems/Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of network environments; including, but not limited to e-Mail Servers, associated Applications Servers, VoIP communication networks, Unified Communications systems, and internal wireless networks. This role assists in ensuring data communication and associated server infrastructure capabilities are functional, reliable and meet service level agreements at all times. The Network Administrator works with internal and external staff to assure data communication needs are met; resolves technical problems; and assists in maintenance and upgrades, supporting data center and cabling systems. Additional duties outside technical area of expertise assigned as needed. Requirements Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent work experience required. 2 years relevant work experience in network environment required. Current accredited network administration certificate(s) preferred. Strong working knowledge of current LAN/WAN,/WLAN networking concepts and technologies; Internet, e-mail systems, telecommunications and data communications; network and desktop operating systems, software packages, and software utilities. Ability to understand, maintain and support approved network hardware. Working knowledge of network hardware including servers, switches, firewalls, routers and cabling required. Proficiency with network operating systems and server based application software required (Microsoft preferred). Strong analytical skills. Excellent detail oriented communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to learn new software and hardware packages; adapt to changes in technology; work independently and as a team member; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all those contacted during the course of work. Ability to lift, carry and move computer equipment required. Ability to work off hours and after hours; accompanied by requirement to serve on rotational, 24x7 on-call basis required.
