Description
Staff Accountant candidates will be interested in Robert Half's full-time opportunity with an innovative company. Candidates will need to be capable of rising to a variety of challenges while juggling multiple components of a fast-paced environment. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Located in the Vacaville, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Responsibilities
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Maintain and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Produce journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting preferred, but not required.
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Proficiency in general ledger
Earlier work involving accruals
Previous experience working with Intercompany Accounting
Foundational knowledge in Fixed Asset Ledger
Proven knowledge of journal entries
Good understanding of Intercompany Accounting
Command of general ledger
Wide ranging experience with Prepaids
General familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Comprehensive knowledge of Fixed Asset Ledger
Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation
Practical knowledge of account reconciliation
Quality experience with bank reconciliations
Adjusting Journal Entries experience highly desired
Vow to meet business deadlines
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
ERP system experience preferred.
