Requiring applicants with Microsoft Office proficiency, Accountemps seeks a Payroll Administrator for payroll processing to fill a role with a company in the Manufacturing field. This Payroll Administrator opportunity is located in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota and is a long-term temporary role.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

  • Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Help payroll manage all internal and external audits

  • Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads

  • Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential

  • Perform other tasks as necessary

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures

  • Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling

  • Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

  • Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

  • Review source documents with necessary verification

  • Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • Proficiency in Canadian Payroll

  • Garnishments payroll experience highly desired

  • Well-founded grasp of Multi-State Processing

  • Practical knowledge of ADP Online

  • General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Garnishment Calculations experience preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

  • 2+ years of payroll experience

  • Mastery of internal controls

  • Certified Payroll Professional designation favored

  • Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Previous experience using accounting software
