Robert Half Staff Accountant in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota
Description Robert Half is searching for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Vadnais Heights, Minnesota area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
What you get to do every single day
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
High attention to detail
ERP system experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Foundational knowledge in Project Billing
Well-founded grasp of Job Cost
Deep understanding of Billing Collection
Experience with Billing Statements
Proven knowledge of AIA Billing
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Billing experience preferred
Recent and relevant accounting experience
