Robert Half Plant Accountant in Valdosta, Georgia

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Valdosta, Georgia. The role involves comprehensive financial responsibilities including month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and assisting with audit requests. Additionally, the role also covers a wide array of duties encompassing Accounts Payable & Supplier Maintenance, Shipping and Raw Material Ordering and Receiving, Site HR/Benefit/Payroll liaison, General Office Duties, and participation in Health and Safety Events.

Responsibilities:

• Complete all month-end financial reporting accurately and within the specified timeframe

• Prepare budgeting and forecasting reports in collaboration with relevant departments

• Assist with internal and external audit requests, ensuring all necessary information is provided promptly

• Manage supplier invoicing, adding, and updating supplier information, and ensure all suppliers are experience in to work on site

• Coordinate documentation for various shipments and manage scheduling of all types of shipments

• Ensure sufficient availability of raw materials by coordinating ordering with the Production Manager and scheduling deliveries

• Act as a liaison between the site and corporate HR to help resolve payroll/benefit issues

• Develop and implement key people initiatives such as training, talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/on-boarding, and succession management

• Perform general office duties like ordering office and breakroom supplies, maintaining and requesting service on data room copier and copier in office, and cell phone administration

• Participate in site safety tours, training, and SafeStart Leadership and Steering Committee. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Expertise in Annual Financial Reporting is required

• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures is necessary

• Demonstrated experience in Budgeting and Forecasting

• Familiarity with Coupa software is a must

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Prior experience with Inventory Controls is essential

• Knowledge of Raw Materials and Raw Material Inventory is necessary

• Experience in Supplier Management is required

• Familiarity with Financial Reporting procedures is mandatory

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is needed.
