Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Van Nuys, California

Description

We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team located in Van Nuys, California, 91411, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including General Ledger & Journal Entry Maintenance, Account Auditing, Revenue Reporting, and more. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain the general ledger and journal entries

• Conduct thorough account audits, investigations, and reconciliations

• Handle sales & use tax accounting and payment operations

• Prepare property tax returns

• Manage revenue reporting processes

• Oversee inventory accounting operations

• Carry out bank reconciliations

• Handle prepaid insurance accounting and payroll accounting

• Manage fixed asset and depreciation accounting

• Review company-generated financial statements

• Prepare and report company KPIs

• Audit Excel file spreadsheets

• Assist other accounting staff members with their requests and needs.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Auditing and Billing Functions skills

• Experience with Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting

• General Ledger and Journal Entries experience

• Account Reconciliation and Sales Tax skills

• Experience with Depreciation, Reviewing Financial Statements, and KPI Reporting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Federal Income Tax

• Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance. CPA a plus, but not required.

  • 5+ Years of accounting experience in a Corporate Accounting environment

  • Working for mid-size company with 25 million in revenues or more

  • 2 years minimum currently in the role of Accounting Manager.

  • ADP Payroll experience is a plus, but not required.

  • A history of job growth and promotions.

  • Big 4 or public accounting experience a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity with Sales & Use Tax, Property Taxes, Federal Income Taxes.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting theory and practices

  • Microsoft Business Central knowledge is a plus but not required.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.

  • Ability to work independently, highly detail oriented, and a critical thinker,

  • Able to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
