Robert Half Assistant Controller in Vancouver, Washington

Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Vancouver, Washington. This role will involve maintaining and controlling the company's financial processes and systems, providing accurate financial data, participating in budgeting processes, and assisting in the financial decision-making process. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end close processes

• Collaborate with the financial team to prepare budgets and financial reports

• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties like regulatory agencies

• Support the Controller in ensuring that the financial operations of the company comply with laws and regulations

• Maintain and update financial information in the accounting system

• Assist in the management of tax planning and compliance

• Liaise with external auditors and manage internal controls

• Oversee financial systems implementations and upgrades

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service quality.

Requirements • Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or other similar position.

• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.

• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)

• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.

• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.

• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• An analytical mind with aptitude in math.

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is required.
