Description
Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an interim Assistant Controller for a growing company in the Vancouver area. This is a 4-5 month project with a high likelihood of extension. The Assistant Controller be responsible for supporting the Controller in directing the activities of the Accounting Department, including direct responsibility for the financial and cost accounting functions. Time management, excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this role. Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of the accounting department and help them to meet the departments objectives and goals
Ensure that accounts payable are paid on time
Ensure that accounts receivable is collected on time
Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding finances and taxes
Assist with forecasting and long-range plan processes by ensuring data integrity, accuracy, validity, and completeness related to the inventory process and all manufacturing processes
Provide regular reporting on status of corporate finances
Manage a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate internal and external financial and control audits
Implementation of internal control policies and procedures
Special reports and analyses as necessary
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
CPA preferred
Advanced Degree – MBA, Master’s in Accounting a plus
5+ years of relevant experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong proficiency with Excel and industry standard accounting software, including Crystal Reports and Hyperion
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
