Robert Half IT Service Desk Technician in Vancouver, Washington


Robert Half is hiring TWO IT Service Desk Technician for a Food Manufacturing client in Vancouver, Washington. The primary responsibility of this IT Service Desk Technician role is to provide remote and onsite support for internal end-users as well as diagnose and resolve technical issues. This is a long-term contract with strong potential to extend or convert into a permanent employee.

Additionally, this is an 100% onsite role in Vancouver, WA and does offer a monthly gas stipend to help with commuting costs!

Major responsibilities

  • Monitors ticket queues to triage, resolve and escalate incidents/requests according to SLA and ITSM best practices

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to US Bakery facilities as required.

  • Support and contribute to the successful delivery of business-driven and internal IT projects and enhancements.

  • Work within ITSM/ITIL framework and toolset to create and manage incidents, problems, requests, changes, assets and knowledge articles

  • Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.

  • Rapidly respond to emergency situations, including direct response as well as coordination and communication of progress updates to IT staff, vendors and business partners, both during and outside of normal business hours.

  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others

  • Be part of the on-call rotation for after hour suppor


  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Previous experience working with a ticketing system and working within a ticketing queue

  • Hands-on and remote technical troubleshooting capabilities

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision

  • Experience support Active Directory, Exchange, O365 and other MS related systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
