Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Purchaser for our client in Vancouver, Washington. Your role will involve managing vendor relationships, overseeing the buying process, and maintaining inventory records. This is a contract position and requires the candidate to be onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities: • Oversee and conduct surplus sales, ensuring smooth coordination and scheduling. • Handle the vendor bid process, including evaluation of responses and participation in the selection process. • Coordinate deliveries with various stakeholders such as Facilities, installers, and contractors. • Take charge of small equipment and furniture purchases, including research, order placement, and tracking. • Collaborate with planning committees to identify furniture for new buildings and manage the design, layout, and specifications of furniture purchases. • Maintain and update inventory records for fixed asset furniture and equipment within the organization. • Conduct inventory checks as necessary. • Ensure comprehension and adherence to purchasing and asset policies. • Understand, interpret, and ensure compliance with state laws related to purchasing and asset management. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role.

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems for financial management.

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems, and understanding of their role in business management.

• Familiarity with various accounting functions and their applications in purchasing.

• Thorough knowledge of buying processes and their implementation in a business context.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration and negotiation.

• Experience in managing asset inventory, including tracking, assessment, and reporting.
