Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Venice, California
Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our consumer goods company on a temporary-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. This position will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, verifying details such as pricing, quantities, and terms.
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure proper authorization and approval.
Code and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper general ledger account coding.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments, ensuring adherence to payment terms and discounts.
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and payment status updates.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations related to accounts payable.
Maintain organized electronic and physical files of invoices, payments, and other related documentation.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in QuickBooks or similar programs preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and invoice processing.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP.
