Robert Half Cost Accounting Manager in Vernon, California

Description

We are offering a chance to work in the manufacturing industry in Vernon, California, United States as a Cost Accounting Manager. This role will involve managing costing as well as developing and maintaining procedures within a manufacturing setting. The role presents a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cost accounting systems and procedures

• Manage the costing process to ensure accurate reflection of production costs

• Develop and maintain procedures for manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and compliance

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

• Analyze and report on cost variances to assist management in decision making

• Prepare cost forecasts to assist in budgeting and financial planning

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations in all cost accounting operations

• Coordinate with other finance team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

• Continuously review and improve cost accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements • Demonstrated expertise in Cost Accounting and Costing methodologies.

• Proven experience in the Manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.

• Proficiency in using and managing MRP Systems.

• Ability to develop, implement, and maintain accounting procedures in a manufacturing setting.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate cost efficiency and effectiveness.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various departments and present cost analysis reports.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cost Accounting role, preferably in a managerial capacity.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
