Description
Robert Half is looking for an AP Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a respected company. As the AP Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of the accounts payable with 3 way matching, preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Requirements
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Deep understanding of Invoice Processing
Background working with MySQL
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Reconciliation
Process Vendor Invoices experience highly desired
Enter Vendor Invoices experience
Earlier work involving general ledger
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), including 3-way matching
Practical knowledge of Form 1099
Microsoft Excel experience highly preferred
General familiarity with IRS W-9 Forms
Adeptness in Credit card accounting
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
