Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Villa Park, Illinois

Description We are looking to recruit a Payroll Specialist to join our team located in VILLA PARK, Illinois, United States. This role involves managing all payroll-related functions for our team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of complex payroll regulations, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the collection, verification, and processing of payroll information on a weekly basis

• Ensure accurate deductions for taxes, benefits, union dues, and other payroll-related items

• Swiftly and accurately resolve any payroll discrepancies

• Implement payroll changes correctly, such as new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates

• Issue statements of earnings and deductions as required

• Produce accurate payroll reports for management as needed

• Stay up-to-date with government regulations affecting payroll procedures and ensure compliance

• Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production

• Liaise with auditors, unions, and regulatory authorities as required

• Maintain payroll records in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations

This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Requirements • Possess at least 2 years of experience in payroll management

• Have strong knowledge in processing bi-Monthly Payroll

• Capable of accurately managing Time Entries

• Proficient in using payroll software and other related tools

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality

• Advanced skills in MS Excel and data management

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Good understanding of taxation and legislation related to payroll

• Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues and management

• Must possess a high level of professional integrity and ethics

• A degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
