Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Description Robert Half has an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk opportunity in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals. This position works closely and reports to the Accounting Manager and handles all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the Virginia Beach, Virginia area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire opening.
How you will make an impact
Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
Manage full-cycle A/P
Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
Carry out additional tasks as assigned
Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Numeric data entry experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Proficiency in Check Runs
Bank reconciliations experience preferred
