Description
We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our Business Development sales Team. This role involves overseeing client relationships, developing strategic marketing initiatives, and managing operational budgets to ensure smooth business transactions and service. The position is a full-time permanent role that will be reporting to either the Richmond or Virgnia Beach area.
Responsibilities:
Lead the achievement of annual sales targets and revenue goals.
Develop a deep understanding of the food industry supply chain.
Act as the primary contact for clients, service teams, and agricultural supply partners across all product categories managed.
Design, implement, and evaluate tailored marketing strategies to promote new products and improve distribution efficiency.
Support the sales team by creating and delivering sales materials to effectively communicate marketing strategies.
Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients.
Monitor and respond to industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands.
Operate within assigned operational and marketing budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
Develop performance scorecards to track and report on key metrics and business objectives.
Engage in local trade shows and industry events as a company representative.
Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, a background in sales and marketing, and experience within the food industry with exposure to Nielson, IRI or a 3rd party data base.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role within the wholesale distribution of durable goods industry
• Proficiency in account analysis and financial report interpretation
• Proven track record of business growth and development in previous roles
• Demonstrable leadership skills, including team management and employee development
• Strong decision-making abilities and strategic thinking
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using business software and tools
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations effectively
• Commitment to adhere to all company policies and regulations
• Ability to travel as needed for business purposes
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills to stay updated with industry trends.
