Description If you put your accounting skills to good use, Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Accountant with a Financial Services company. Preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting are among the key responsibilities for this role. Candidates will need excellent analytical skills and an ability to keep up in a fast-paced workspace. This Senior Accountant role is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia within the Financial Services field. Your responsibilities
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary Requirements
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Skilled with ERP systems
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Must have excellent time management skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Proficiency in Bank Account Reconciliation
Proven knowledge of journal entries
Cash reconciliations experience
Knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of Bank Deposit
Account reconciliation experience desired
Bank reconciliations experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
