Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half has an opening for an ambitious Controller for a reputable company in the SAAS industry, the company is located in the Central Valley and the role is primarily remote, working four days a week from home. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Requirements
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Financial statement preparation experience
Month end closings experience desired
Expertise in budget forecasting
Adeptness in general ledger
Strong familiarity with financial reporting
Analyze Financial Statements experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
CPA/MBA preferred
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
