The Senior Accountant handles a wide range of tasks, including financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives Requirements - General familiarity with Lacerte Tax Software
Corporate Tax Compliance experience preferred
Solid understanding of Analyze Financial Statements
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Federal Tax Return experience
Well-founded grasp of Ultra Tax
Strong familiarity with Consolidated Tax Return
Proven knowledge of Multi-state Tax Returns
Audited Financial Statements experience
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Vow to meet business deadlines
Skilled with ERP systems
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Must have excellent time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
