Robert Half Staff Accountant in Vista, California
Description
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's growing construction company!
In this role, you'll play a vital role in the financial success of their company. You'll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, working alongside their controller as your mentor.
What you'll get to learn:
Assist with project budgeting and cost control, tracking expenses and identifying areas for potential savings.
Process invoices from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Prepare financial reports, including job costing reports, cash flow forecasts, and Work in Progress (WIP) calculations.
Help manage project profitability by monitoring earned revenue and identifying potential cost overruns.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations, project review spreadsheets, journal entries, account/credit card reconciliations.
Monthly close process (account dumps, P& L reviews, GL adjustments, account reconciliation – GL to AP/AR, burden allocations, project review notes, etc.)
Assist with annual insurance audits and financial reviews.
Requirements
1-2 years of accounting experience (public accounting or relevant industry a plus).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Eagerness to learn and a willingness to take on new challenges.
