The permanent Controller position is situated in the Waco, Texas area.
Key responsibilities
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed Requirements - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Proficiency in strategic planning
Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience
Solid understanding of People Management
CPA or MBA preferred
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
