Robert Half Staff Accountant in Wall, New Jersey

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a manufacturing client located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for fixed assets, account analysis, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze data to determine production costs through variance analysis, cost of goods sold analysis, standard costing, overhead & labor rate calculation, and inventory valuation analysis.

• Assist in preparing financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.

• Participate in physical inventory audits and cycle count audits as requested.

• Prepare standard costing as needed and demonstrate understanding of BOM & Routings for cost validation.

• Provide reports and back up to internal and external auditors as requested.

• Update ERP with overhead & labor rate calculations.

• Assist in cross-functional training of cost accounting concepts.

• Perform period-end closing activities, perform journal entries, and GL account analysis.

• Perform account reconciliations to drive accuracy in inventory accounts and review at balance sheet review meetings.

• Resolve error clearing and work with appropriate departments to resolve recurring issues.

• Assist with annual cost roll including validations.

• Prepare audit reports and present findings to management to improve transparency.

• Assist as required with special projects and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Applicant should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the role of a Staff Accountant.

• Proficiency in Manufacturing industry.

• Experience in Variance Analysis is required.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a must.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are needed.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently are required.
