Description
Our well-established construction company is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. The role will require processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures, and performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing and recording accounts payable data.
Responsibilities:
Maintain proper documentation for all invoices, contracts, and expenses; process these invoices for payment.
Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm all approval documentation is attached.
Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct any discrepancies effectively.
Assist the financial department in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records.
Perform checks of the processing system to ensure accuracy of all payments.
Respond to vendor inquiries and work to resolve any discrepancies.
Assist with critical projects to improve the efficiency of the Accounts Payable process.
Requirements
Qualifications:
3+ years accounts payable experience with a construction company
Relevant work experience in managing large volumes of invoices.
Excellent understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
Proficient in MS-office especially Excel, and experience with an ERP system such as Viewpoint.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.
