Description
Growing civil litigation law firm has an immediate opening for a Contract Attorney! This Contract Attorney will join a tenured team of litigators and staff, assisting various practice groups including real estate, insurance defense, employment law, and general commercial litigation. As a Contract Attorney with this firm, you'll handle projects for multiple cases which could include, but is not limited to, motion drafting, legal research, trial and deposition preparation, and discovery management. The hours are flexible and will ebb and flow based on your availability and the project requirements. This Contract Attorney can work 100% remotely; however, the ideal candidate will live local to Walnut Creek and be willing to work on-site on a hybrid basis. Responsibilities:
Draft various legal documents including motions and briefs
Conduct legal research
Prepare for mediation, depositions, arbitration, and trial
Assist with written discovery
Projects as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
5-15+ years of California- based civil litigation experience in an attorney capacity
Must be licensed to practice in California
Prior experience in one of the following areas is preferred: employment law, commercial, insurance coverage, unlawful detainer, or insurance defense
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
Ability to work on-site in the Walnut Creek office is highly preferred but not required
Willingness to manage a workload that will ebb and flow
