Description
Boutique law firm in Walnut Creek, CA is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with a focus on trial preparation to support our attorneys in all aspects of litigation! As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be a pivotal member of the litigation team, specializing in trial preparation and management. Your expertise in creating trial binders, managing discovery, conducting legal research, and utilizing document management software will be essential to the firm's success in the courtroom.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with attorneys to prepare for trial, including creating trial binders and exhibits.
Manage the discovery process, both responding to and propounding discovery requests.
Utilize document management software to organize and maintain case files and evidence.
Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and/or other resources.
Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and subpoenas.
Assist in deposition preparation and attend depositions as needed.
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate.
3+ years of litigation paralegal experience with a strong emphasis on trial preparation.
Proficiency in document management software.
Expertise in responding to and propounding discovery.
Strong legal research skills, including Westlaw and/or LexisNexis.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Paralegal certification preferred.
Familiarity with state and federal court rules and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
