One of our clients is looking for a Payroll Specialist in Walnut Creek, California, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll tasks, ensuring accurate calculations, and promptly addressing related queries.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of payroll for approximately 2600 employees, including hourly and salaried staff
• Operate ADP Vantage software for payroll processing, open to using WFN and other forms of ADP
• Respond to a high volume of emails related to payroll inquiries in a timely manner
• Handle adjustments, direct deposits, garnishments, and levies associated with payroll
• Collaborate with management to process terminations
• Manage the payroll process alphabetically, mirroring the system for handling emails
• Work with an interim Payroll Manager and a Payroll Clerk to ensure smooth operations
• Adopt a self-starter approach to own your work, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and responsiveness
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, ADP Workforce Now, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Terminations, Garnishments, Payroll - Garnishments, Payroll Taxes, Onboarding, Process Bi-weekly Payroll.
Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Strong skills in Auditing
• Ability to effectively handle Terminations
• Experience with Garnishments and Payroll - Garnishments
• Knowledge of Payroll Taxes
• Proficiency in Onboarding processes
• Experience in processing Bi-weekly Payroll
