Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Walnut Creek, California

Description

One of our clients in the Walnut Creek area is looking for a Payroll Specialist:

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the whole payroll process for employees ensuring timely and accurate payment.

  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.

  • Conducting regular audits on the payroll system to ensure accuracy.

  • Managing benefits and deductions, retirement plans, insurance, and savings bonds.

  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee payroll queries.

  • Collaborating with Human Resources and Accounting teams on a regular basis.

  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.

  • Preparing monthly reports for senior management.

    Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist or a role with similar responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.

  • High degree of professionalism and strong problem-solving capability.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and payroll software systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and regulations.
