Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a growing firm. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Warren, Michigan based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis. They provide an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Maintain monthly payment schedules Requirements - 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Proficient in ERP systems
Great attention to detail
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Well-founded grasp of manufacturing
Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Deep understanding of account reconciliation
Practical knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration
General familiarity with month end closings
Experience with Bank Account Reconciliation
