Robert Half Assistant Controller in Warrenton, Virginia

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the telecom industry, located in Warrenton, Virginia, United States. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining the general ledger, performing regular account reconciliations, assisting with audits, developing and implementing internal controls, identifying process improvements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.

• Support the development and management of budgets and forecasts, provide analysis and make recommendations.

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

• Conduct regular account reconciliations, including bank statements, balance sheets, and income statements.

• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

• Help develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department and implement changes as needed.

• Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards. Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, such as Assistant Controller or Senior Accountant.

• Strong proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is considered an asset.

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential.

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions would be beneficial.

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is preferred.

• Must possess a strong understanding of Accounting Functions.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Experience in Auditing is a significant plus.

• Must have a strong understanding of Budget Processes.
