Robert Half Corporate Financial Analyst in Warrenville, Illinois
Description Robert Half is seeking outstanding candidates for a Financial Analyst position at a fast-growing Financial Services company. In addition to measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you will conduct financial modeling on a variety of financial products in this Financial Analyst role. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. As a key business partner on a dynamic team, you will work in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The daily tasks of a Financial Analyst position includes supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. In this position, you will also be expected to follow your main responsibilities with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Naperville, Illinois, and it is a permanent employment opportunity.
Major responsibilities
Work alongside cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are properly executed
Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
Provide valuable foresight and decision support through effective Business Intelligence (BI)
Collaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations to ensure business partners handle their resources r
Develop monthly reports to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required
Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Assemble and review forecasting reports
The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is comfortable with large amounts of information and adept at managing expectations
Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Look over performance to date while assessing potential opportunities and risks Requirements - Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience prioritized)
2+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
Previous experience working with Cash Flow Reports
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Well-founded grasp of forecasting & modeling
Budget forecasting experience highly desired
Wide ranging experience with Cash Flow Analysis
Analysis experience desired
Good understanding of Cash Flow Modeling
Proven knowledge of forecasting
Quality experience with Financial Services
Deep understanding of analysis
Expertise in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
Earlier work involving Cash Flow Forecasts
General familiarity with financial modeling
Foundational knowledge in budgeting
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
