Robert Half Accounting and Office Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

My client, the CEO of an internationally recognized architecture and interior design firm in Washington DC is looking for an Accounting and Office Manager. This is a full time and permanent position. It will also require 5 days a week on site.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all accounting and financial processes

  • Perform full cycle accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.

  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Conduct bank reconciliations, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.

  • Handle invoicing, bill payments, and expense reporting.

  • Collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation and annual audits.

  • Communicating with vendors, project managers, designers, and clients on any issues around billing and invoicing

  • Other responsibilities are the administrative and operational tasks of the office including retirement plan administration, managing leases, insurance, supplies, equipment and facility emails and files,

  • Providing support to the team, and coordinating various other tasks as required.

  • Managing the project management databases

  • Maintain employee records, including attendance, benefits, and performance evaluations.

  • Address employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, including supply management, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships.

  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for staff.

  • Provide administrative support to the leadership team as needed.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.

  • 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Experience with international banking a plus.

  • Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.

  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with principal and staff.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
